about…….

I was born and grew up in Kirkby in Ashfield in the coalfields of north Nottinghamshire .

After going to University in Liverpool in the late 1960s, I worked variously as a tarmac layer, teacher, university lecturer and consultant.

I travelled the world on a shoestring and lived for several years in Australia. I currently work and live in Bristol.

My first collection of short stories, “The Mystery of Ernie Talor’s Abdomen” was published in 2019.  I completed a further collection, “Christmas at the Rum Jungle Hotel and other Travel Stories” in 2022.  I am just completing a novella, "Silo Killer”, about life in an Australian outback town facing economic decline.
